Bulls X Celtics: Best Series Ever?

The Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics, have had one of the most craziest first round series in playoff history. 7 overtimes, 3 and 2 double over times, winning margins only being were 2, three, 21, 3, 2, 1 and 10 points, and unlikely stars taking charge when the superstars were screwing up. Now tell me if this was not the best series ever.

Sorry about the no posting for a minute. Life's been enjoyable and i haven't been in touch with cyberspace space in a minute. On to some business though.

Chasing Dreams

I was getting a haircut at my barbers, when I came across a miracle story in a September 2008 issue of Men's Journal. The story was written by Thayer Walker, and it was about a man by the name of Timmy Turner that was a surfer and movie director. The article focuses on how Turner followed his dream of surfing and making movies on surfing, and how it almost killed him. While surfin in Indonesia, Turner developed a serious staph infection in his skull that eroded almost a quarter of the bone. He underwent six major surgeries and lost 75% of his original skull, but was replaced with artificial bone that was stitched onto his real skull. Basically this man went from being into a coma, to doctors saying he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life, to recovering 100% in 6 months, and back surfing in the Arctic ocean with his buddies. Read the full story here if your looking for some inspiration.

Amber Vision

A friend of mine put me on some sun glasses, called Amber vision sun glasses. They're a product seen on TV, and you can purchase them online for a whopping...$3! The shades are real hot and they look real cool. They enhance your vision and make everything quite sharper blocking 99% of UV rays. Go and cop them

The Fastest, Most Powerful Bentley

I came across a little section on the March/April edition of DEPARTURES magazine, and it was talking about the fastest, most powerful Bentley in the world. Apparently the new car is "delivering supercar performance" and is the first "flex-fuel" Bentley. The car has not been previewed, but it will be on display next week at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The specs that have been given include: top speed at 204 mph, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds, and the fact that its the first Bentley to run on gasoline and bio-fuel as well. The car is supposed to come out by summer 2010, with price tag being announced by then.

Louis V. 09

Louis Vuitton has a new campaign coming out this year. Not too much is known about it, but from what I've seen, I'm highly impressed. Madonna is currently involved in promoting and advertising the handbags, and probably a whole lot more feminine products. At 50 she has a new set of photo advertisements, and she looks pretty good for her age. As for the male aspect, a few pictures is all we got from this.

NY Fashion Week

I mentioned a few posts ago about the Mercedes Benz fashion show that started last Friday, and I've got some news on other featured articles from the show. Many designers were MIA at the show, but the ones that were there had a lot of special clothing articles. Some looked very stupid, and you would only find such things to be worn at some elaborate party that required some silly dress code. Here are some of the pieces that stood out from the photo's I saw.

Peep the hi-top boat shoes. (Band Of Outsiders)

The middle suit piece (Spurr)

The amber jacket. Looks good for skiing (Spurr)

Gray suit, black dress shoes. (Gilded Age)

Peep the middle guy. Suit jacket is tough. (Calvin Klein)

Slidin' Cribs?

dRMM, an architecture company in London, has built a small yet sophisticated crib in Suffolk, England. Peep this: the house can slide in an out of its shell. There are rails that the walls and the roof that allow them to slide across to move the house. The house is 28 Meters long, and there's no exact price on the pad, but I'm sure there's a whoppin' tag on it.

The IPhone Pro

The greatest phone ever made?

This my friends is the Iphone pro. Its just a concept but Apple has said that we can expect something along these lines some where down the road. It has the same user face as the current 3G Iphone but this time around with a better camera more storage and FINALLY a keyboard!!! Whats also great about the keyboard is that it has a directional pad along with an A and B button for when we are playing games on our pone. Of course this will cost more but at the end of the day if we can have a phone that looks like that concept art, I'm willing to throw down some money for it.

African Designers

We've been mentioning a lot about spring 2009 wear, and there's some more to come, but lets jump ahead a few seasons. Mercedes-Benz is having its semi annual fashion show on Friday the 13th and its cataloging its fall wear for 2009. This is a really big event, because a lot of major designers are gonna be there unveiling new fall wear, and perhaps some new winter attire.
However with this years fashion show, African designers are coming out heavy, and were going to be seeing a new array of clothing from them. Some of the new designer brands are Xuly Bet by Malian designer Lamine Badian Kouyate, Tiffany Amber by Nigeria's Folake Coker, Momo by Nigeria's Fati Asibelua and Stoned Cherrie by South Africa's Nkhensani Nkosi. All of these four designers are unveiling collections at the show.
Xuly Bet which means "keep an open mind" in the wolof language are just re imagined T-shirt designs that Kouyate is bringing forth with a price range of $100 and up. Stoned Cherrie brings out a hefty price with clothing starting from $500 and going up to $2000. Momo by Asibelua is animal print themed and is ranging from $300 to $3500. Her work has gained some popularity in european countries, and shes hoping to catch some attention here in America

Polo: Spring 09

Ralph Lauren's Polo clothing line, just came out with its spring collection. The collection features last years Polo model designs, with new colorways, so basically they're just a revamp. Being a man that wears polo shirts, I'd like to say i like the new colors that are coming out. There are other articles that are included into the collection, such as plaid shorts, or seer sucker shorts, but those are just recycled designs from last year.

If your a high end shopper, peep the new collection and just check around for things that might catch your eye. You might find yourself a hot new polo and join the infinite debate of either wearing it tucked in or out.

Blockbusters of '09

With one month down in 2009, this years blockbusters make the remaining eleven months seem like a long stretch. There weren't that many big hits last year, except for maybe The Dark Knight and...well other not so big hits.
However there is a plethora (SAT word!) of new movies this year and they look all so very promising.
Hugh Jackman reprises his role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the titles character. the movie is set to explore the life of wolverine prior to him joining the X-Men, and its supposedly set 17 years before the first movie. The Dark Knights voice changing batman, Christian Bale takes on the role as John Connor in Terminator Salvation, as he fights the machines in a war that hes spent the previous three movies stopping.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return in Fast & Furious in the fourth movie of the series thats supposedly taking place in between the second and third.
Michael Bay brings back Transformers in the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Its the most anticipated movie on the summer so far. Disney is also releasing its much hyped The Princess and the Frog featuring the first black main character in this spin off fairy tale, along with that, Toy Story in 3-D (not 3!) is coming out. J.J Abrams directs the new Star Trek movie that also looks promising. Others include Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Ice Age 3, Dragonball Evolution, Year One, and Astro Boy.
Be sure to vote on the poll on this blog to see which movie you think is gonna be the blockbuster of 09.

X6

BMW is well known for its luxury high performance cars. With its popular X5 SUV selling ahead in the market, BMW has taken the initiative and brought out the 2009 BMW X6. The new model takes on the same frame as the older X5 model, but its shell is completely remodeled giving it a brand new sleek look. I'm in favor of the new shell design because it gives it a more rounded smoother approach then the clean cut X5.
However there's more brains to this beauty. To begin with the X6 comes equipped with a 3.0-liter dual overhead cam and 6-speed Sport Automatic transmission. The engine runs at a good 300HP with 6 cylinders. The windshield wipers are rain sensitive, and the water jets are heated so you can melt the ice/snow of your car faster. Also the back windshield has a built in defroster.
If you like to bump your music, then this car has just that built right inside of it with High-fidelity 12-speaker sound system including 2 subwoofers under the front seats and digital 7-channel amplifier with 205 watts of power!
You can control the temperature on the left and the right side of the car, plus there is an engine on/off button. The moon roof is one touch, and the sun visors come with illuminated mirrors.
All in all this is a perfectly new luxury vehicle for you...if you got the money that is. the X6 starts of at a good...$52,500

Is 9 months the same as 25 years?

Two incidents.  Same state.  Same city.  Same crimes.  Perpetrators aged the same.  Victims aged the same.  No prior serious offenses for either perp. Pretty similar cases, right?
In each, a 17-year-old had sex multiple times with a 14-year-old.  But in one case the perpetrator faces felony charges and up to 25 years in prison, while the other charge is a misdemeanor whose maximum sentence is 9 months.
Now its test time so get your paper and pencil ready, one of the perps is a male, while the other is a female.  Now the question is who got the higher charge? The male or the female?
Good! you guessed right I hope!  That's right the male is facing the felony charge and up to 25 years in jail for the same exact crime a Female did who is only getting a misdemeanor charge and up to 9 months in jail!
Assistant District Attorney Jim Haasch said " the cases are different because Guthrie's boyfriend is "almost 15," with a birthday in February. Jepsen's girlfriend turns 15 in April."
Well I don't know much about the law but I'm pretty sure that "almost" does not make it ok.  If the speed limit is 35 mph and I'm going 40 mph I cant tell the cop that I'm "almost" going the speed limit and then he will let me off. I do wish it worked like that though. Hopefully they realize just how un-fair this really is and fixes it before it creates bigger problems.
I don't know what race the male is but I do know the female is white. Maybe that has something to do with all of this? Ill try and find out the race of the male since that can play an even bigger role in this sexism, I really hope he is white, because if he is black then I'm calling racism and last time I checked we have a black man as president. Racism is over guys! Remember that!

(COMPLETE sarcasm for the slow ones who thought I was just serious)

Spring for a Bargain

Spring is coming right around the corner, and malls across the nation are having their winter sales. If you're still looking to go get that jacket you wanted a couple months back, now is probably the best time to go and get it. After all here in New Jersey, it looks likes its gonna be cold for a little while. But if you really hate the cold, and wanna gear up for spring now is a prime opportunity.
Stores around the nations are releasing their spring line up early, with February right around the corner, new collections are popping up everywhere. Old Navy, Aeropostale, American Eagle and H&M are just a couple of new stores releasing new spring wear for 2009. Clothing articles include, polo shirts, cargo shorts/pants, and sweater vests. Certain clothing stores are throwing out new plaid and checkered button down shirts, and we might see a drift from stripes this upcoming season.
These are all some perfect places if you're looking for some bargain deals for really good looking clothes. If budgeting isnt your problem then you might want to try Express, Hollister, Metropark, Image, and Guess. Guess is bringing out brand new designs for their jeans, and Express is going more casual wear for the spring. Hollister as usual is doing the usual beach/surfer wear typically found at the store. If youre looking for the hip-hop side, Metropark and image are ideal places for you

Box Office Hit?

"Notorious" was my pick for number one in the box office this past weekend, but when I go to "http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/" and I look at the first line I don't see "Notorious" I see a movie by the name of " Paul Blart: Mall Cop". Now I'm not sure, but I could be wrong, but didn't "Notorious" have a lot more hype than "Paul Blart"! I can only imagine how much of a waste of money that movie is. Next I look at the number 2 spot hoping that it would be there, but yet again I'm wrong when i see "Grand Torino". Now I'm sure this movie is great and blah blah blah but I mean C'mon America the movie has been out for 6 weeks now and a movie about one of the best rappers of all time cant beat it opening weekend?! I know rap doesn't have an amazing following to make much money but I honestly thought it would be enough to get in the top three! Yes I said it! "Notorious" couldn't even break the top 3! What may you ask made the third spot? That's right, "My Bloody Valentine" That movie was probably horrible but it had a catch factor that caught the eye of a lot of people. so it being number three doesn't really surprise me much, but to beat Biggy. Now that just is plain pitiful. Then finally my eyes wonder down to the number 4 spot where I finally see "Notorious". Now I'm actually made about this, Some people didn't think it was amazing like I did, but I thought most people at least thought it was good... Guess I was wrong. At least "Hotel For Dogs" didn't beat it, because then I'd give up on movies for ever. But one thing that I thought about is the fact that the movie is rated "R" so maybe just maybe the younger audience bought tickets for one movie then saw "Notorious". Well that's I hope at least.

Whats In a Fitted?

The fitted cap is strong trend in the Hip-Hop fashion that has crossed over and cut into other trends of today's attire. Back in the day the cap used to signify your favorite baseball team, instead nowadays the fitted cap has transcended that and has become a fashion item.
They've become a symbol of where you are from and what you represent in a sense. 90% of the chance you walk down times square in New York City you will see a New York Yankee hat sitting right on top of someones head. Take it to the south and you're guaranteed to see an Atlanta Braves hat tilted to the side. Bring it to the west coast and you'll get the same result; a Los Angeles Dodgers hat.
These hats have gone from representing a team to representing a whole city. Sectionalism is very strong in America and you can see clearly in the many lifestyles found around the different parts of the country. Wearing a hat representing your city is just one of those many differences.
Its present in todays hip-hop music. Watch any music video and you'll see Jay-Z with a Yankee hat, or T.I. with a Braves cap. Music is one way these caps transcended from being sports attire to hip hop fashion attire.

Japanese Cartoon

This is relatively old news by now, but the vocalist on these tracks by post-punk group Japanese Cartoon sounds alot like rapper Lupe Fiasco. Both Japanese Cartoon and Fiasco himself have denied that it's him, saying that the source of the vocals is a guy by the name of Percival Fats. I don't wanna call them liars, but you listen for yourself, and you be the judge. I'm not convinced.

Talk about equal rights...

Lela Churchwell got jealous of her boyfriend Kevin Robinson's apparently innocent relationship with a teenaged girl.  So, using Robinson's video camera, she secretly filmed the girl in the shower.  Then she hit him on the head with a shovel "two or three times."  Then she tried to convince him that he had taken the photos while drunk.   Then she lied to the police about all of the above.  Then she admitted being a pathological liar and doing all of this to set him up and get him in trouble with authorities.
The police of course have a solution to all of this - arrest and charge the man!  What else?
Now i could be wrong, but when somebody confesses to a crime and tells the police what exactly went down doesn't that mean they are guilty?  Talk about unfair treatment.  But one good thing that came out of this is that one more crazy woman is behind bars, because the police decided to arrest both Lela and Kevin!  Now when one person commits a crime and then frames somebody else and then confess to doing both shouldn't that person be the only one in trouble?  Why exactly is Kevin being arrested for a crime he didn't commit!  I don't know what is going on with the world if a completely Innocent guy gets arrested for doing absolutely nothing.  Oh my bad... It happens all the time, just ask a black man in jail.  Hopefully the woman gets what she deserves and the man walks away a free man like he really is, and if i was this guy i would totally go to jail for punching this woman directly in her face several times until her teeth were all gone and she was in some serious need for plastic surgery. What do you men have to say about this nonsense? comment and tell us how you feel about this.

Hip-Hop Fashion: A Brief Insight

Hip-Hop fashion has been drastically changing over the course of the last three to four years. Back then the cool thing to do was to wear baggy jeans, and wear over sized tee-shirts. Nowadays hip hop fashion has changed, and is incorporating styles from past decades and other cultures. It's transcended its gangsta look and feel and emerged into a trend that just about any follower of hip-hop can look good in.
In 2008, we saw emergence of clothing labels like Omavi Den'em Jenz, Blac Label, and Christin Audigiers Don Ed Hardy. These particular brands were heavily criticized but picked up a large consumer base. These clothing labels among others started to incorporate styles, that at first many people seemed to hate, but as time progressed it began to pick up. Celebrities such as Gym Class Heroes bassist/drummer can be seen sporting a Blac label shirt in their "Peace Up/Index Down" music video. Other include John Legend sporting an article of clothing from Blac label at the VMA's.
[NY rapper Fabolous spotting an Ed Hardy hoody]

The point of these brands are to bring new material to the fashion of hip-hop. Some might strongly disagree that these clothing lines don't provide what the consumer wants because they only cater to a certain target, but as times change so do the trends. Other clothing labels are beginning to cross the threshold and bring new flavor to the hip-hop world, (i.e: OBEY, Miami Ink, Marc Ecko) and its only up to the followers to progress with the movements. Hip-Hop fashion is changing, and if the audiences don't adapt, then the audience will change as well.

HipHopStash

Good evening, cousins. It's about time you found out about HipHopStash.com. HipHopStash is where to go for your underground hip hop, mixtapes, and videos, as well as some mainstream news. HipHopStash is also closely affiliated with the underground NJ label Ice Grill Ent. and Evil Genius Academy. Ice Grill and EGA cook up some mean stuff from time to time, and if you wanna get up on it, HipHopStash.com is the only place to be. Sure, some of the HipHopStash material is pretty raw, and doesn't have the gentlemanly polish you'd expect from yours truly here at The Electronic Publication for the New Age Gentleman, but underground hip hop is what it is, it may be grimey, but lyricism is art, regardless of subject.

A True Gentleman Appreciates the Beautiful

One undying characteristic of the archetypal Gentleman is his appreciation and passion for the aesthetically pleasing. Forgive my rudeness, I've reached my second post without introducing myself. I'd have you know me as Hugo Riche, and it's my pleasure to bring you news on what's beautiful, clean, and most importantly, tasteful.

I'd like to start with a quick look at one of my favorite designs, Openhouse, designed in 2007 by XTEN Architecture, situated in Hollywood Hills, California.

Openhouse's extensive use of windows blurs the boundries between indoor and out, allowing sunlight to permeate the building at all hours of the day. The building takes full advantage of the agreeable California weather in integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces.

But the building is not just open to the natural beauty of it's environment. It looks down on the iconic city of Los Angeles, providing a stunning view of the city's night lights. In essence, this house begs to be entertained in, the large deck space, swimming pool and hot tub, and open planning lend themselves well to both casual and formal affairs, and with a view that's sure to impress. At the time of this post, Openhouse is for sale for eight and one quarter million dollars.

I hope I've impressed upon you what my future updates will look like. I'd like to revisit this house in depth sometime in the future, once we've been better acquainted.

Being gay is SUPER

"High school basketball star Tom Creed hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality."
That's what "Spiderman" creator Stan Lee is saying the outline of his new TV drama will be based on. Former Marvel Comics boss Stan, who also created the Hulk and the X-Men will be making his way to the silver screen with what he hopes to be a smash hit like other shows such as "Heroes" and "Smallville". A TV insider said: “It was only a matter of time before we had our first gay superhero. And if there is one man who can make him a success it is Stan Lee.
Now I personally don't have anything against a man's sexuality so i wont skip over this show because of that reason, but i do know that i cant see it being a must watch for me like "Heroes" is. hopefully under the direction of Stan Lee this can actually become a great show with underlining metaphors about the struggles of being Homosexual in this day and age. I wont give up on this show without watching the first episode. I can only hope its not as bad as i see it being and that the super queer-o doesn't push the envelope too much to make it a turn off for a mostly male audience.

Hopefully the hero wont look like this... Add Image

World of Flight

Hey readers and welcome to The New Age Gentleman. I'll introduce myself real quick...I'm Mr. Sroya and im just here to make sure you look good.
Ever wondered why the hell i paid that much cash for a little silver man on the back of my Air Jordans? ill tell you why...
Michael Jordan, arguably one of the best, if not THE best basketball player in basketball history, is well known for his superb basketball skills on the court, his amazing career that brought chigaco 6 championships and of course his expensive yet fly ass Air Jordan Sneakers.
Some might wonder, why pay $140 and upwards for a pair of sneakers with a silver man on it, like what does that accomplish?
Well Air Jordan is more then a silver man dunking. Its all about an icon and what that icon represents to people today. Jordan inspired many by taking it to the hoop, and for lack of better words, jamming it in your mouth. He brought home 6 rings, and showed the world that he is the best of the best. Being able to walk down the street with the little silver man on the back of your shoe is a symbol of success. You throw on your favorite pair of Air Jordan 5's and you know what they represent. They show that you are at the prime of your game, just like Jordan was.

Welcome

Thanks for visiting, allow me to compliment you on your good taste and judgment. As I'm sure you're aware, the American Gentleman is under assault in the world today. We here at The Electronic Publication for the New Age Gentleman invite you to join us in exploring what's left for us in today's culture.

How do i smell?

Hey readers, so i want to start off by introducing myself. The name is Mr. Dennison and ill be filling you in on the stuff you care about.Ok so here we go with a great thing for all those unattractive men out there. Scientist are actually coming up with a sort of "love spray" that can make you more trustworthy and hopefully for all you guys out there more attractive to the opposite sex. "Experiments have already shown a nasal squirt of the hormone oxytocin enhances trust and tunes people into others' emotions." Now all they need is a spray to make ugly women sexy for a few hours and i guarantee every single guy would buy it no matter how much it cost...

If you wanna read more on this "love spray" click the link below
